In addition to its impressive charter school standing, The Renaissance Charter School stands as a unique representative of Queens as the only charter school in the Borough to secure a spot in the top 100 high schools in New York State. The school achieved a ranking of #107 among all public high schools in the State. Renaissance achieved higher Regents examination scores compared to both the district and state results, highlighting its commitment to educational excellence across the board.
The US News & World Report rankings, which comprehensively assess various educational institutions in the country, positioned The Renaissance Charter School in the top 40% of high schools nationwide. This accomplishment showcases the school’s rigorous curriculum paired with project based learning opportunities. This cohesive layout prepares students with the tools they need to succeed both academically and personally.

Renaissance is based on the conviction that a change in the destiny of a single individual can lead to a change in the destiny of a community, nation, and ultimately humankind. Opened in 1993, the Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights is one of the first charter schools in New York City.
The PK-12 program of Renaissance enables students and families to enjoy a sense of continuity and stability as the students progress from elementary school to high school. In a small, village-like setting, staff and parents work together to develop students’ academic and leadership skills.
