Developing Leaders for the Renaissance of New York

Support Renaissance

What’s the easiest way to underwrite our mission?

Angel Fund

Our Renaissance Angel Fund was started many years ago by caring school-aides, and has helped many families over the years over particular hardships, helped HS students pay application fees for college, or helped students pay for the special trips that are a rite of passage, like:

  • Nature’s Classroom for our elementary students: a fabulous week of nature walks, science experiments and team-building in the beautiful Adirondacks.
  • Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island (or a New England History tour on alternating years) for our middle school students.
  • Senior Trip, the final trip for our graduating class before starting college.

In 2020, a most difficult year like no other, we gathered funds to provide robust food bags to help get people through the holidays, we assisted students in buying noise-reducing headphones to help with remote learning.  The possibilities for giving are endless.

Please help by donating any amount; choose the Angel Fund after clicking the red DONATE button at the top of the page.

Friends of Renaissance

ABOUT F.O.R. – TRCS is happy to introduce you to the Friends of Renaissance, a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to support both Renaissance schools through fundraising initiatives. The small volunteer board consists of staff members, parents and alumni who oversee all of the campaigns that raise funds for various programs, as well as planning events and new campaigns as needs arise. Any online donations you make will be payable to “Friends of Renaissance” (no longer to Renaissance Charter School or TRCS) and your receipts will be reflected as such. We guarantee your donation will go to support the program/s of your choice. Anyone interested in joining the board or volunteering on a committee can contact Peggy Heeney (peggyheeney@rencharter.org).

Safer, better-educated communities are great for business; they improve the quality of life for everyone. Renaissance’s hard-working, high-achieving students strive to make that happen and with your help, that goal is closer to being a reality.

Corporations, family foundations, or anyone interested in supporting Renaissance should please contact TRCS’s Director of Communications and Development, Meredith Hinshaw-Chaney, at 646-789-5142.

Everything that happens at Renaissance:

  • after school activities
  • curriculum enhancements
  • high faculty-to-student ratio
  • partnerships
  • special programs
  • trips

– all happens because individuals, corporations, foundations or government funders provide support to make it happen.

The students’ success:

  • their creativity and imagination sparked in their classes
  • everything they are exposed to and learn at Renaissance
  • their outstanding test scores
  • college acceptances
  • lives permanently changed for the better for students and families

– is the return on investment your support of Renaissance creates.
