Whether you’re just beginning your search or ready to dive in, we’re here to answer your questions and help you feel right at home. We can’t wait to meet you!

ADMISSIONS

Admission applications are accepted year-round. Applications are accepted for all grades on a rolling basis, using the online SchoolMint platform, where you can choose either our Jackson Heights or Elmhurst school. If a spot opens up mid-year, a mini-lottery is held. Students remain on the waitlist for one year.

Spanish translation is usually available at all of our open houses. If you require translation into another language, please send an email request to carolinacaicedo@rencharter.org and we will try to make that possible.

SchoolMint portal

Please register or log in to your account on the School Mint Portal to apply to The Renaissance Charter School – Jackson Heights and/or The Renaissance Charter School 2 – Elmhurst. This is the recommended way to apply.

On-Line Common Application

Please register or log in to your account on the NYC Charter School Application Portal to apply for The Renaissance Charter School 2 – Elmhurst and/or The Renaissance Charter School – Jackson Heights.  

Google Form

If you have difficulty using SchoolMint or the Common Application, please feel free to use our Google Form. You may opt to apply to either/both schools using this form. (In English and Spanish).

Paper Application

You may print a copy of the application form and bring it to the respective school.

LOTTERY

The admissions lottery is held each year in early April for Pre-Kindergarten, 5th Grade, and 9th Grade. Priority is given to returning students, siblings, and the district, respectively. Waitlisted students are selected by random lottery to fill any seat that becomes available at any point in the calendar year.
